Time flies; it’s inevitable. And it does so for everyone… That’s why we’re so moved to see our players grow up. They walk through the doors of Kaptiva Sports Academy at a very young age, full of enthusiasm to play football and develop within a sporting environment. Then they train and make friends for life. This was the KSA players’ graduation.
Obviously, we’re talking about the older players, those who will now decide whether to continue their academic studies at university, join another sports program, and so on. In fact, some of them are sure to continue training with a club in the Spanish league thanks to KSA’s partnership with Real Betis and Girona, where there are more opportunities for U18 players.

The U18 players graduate at an exciting event
The ceremony took place last Friday, 29 May, at the European International School of Barcelona campus, which shares premises with the Kaptiva Sports Academy’s residential facility and training ground. The students attend classes every day after an hour of training, following an American academic curriculum.
Being part of a context and environment that helps them grow and share their lives in different languages is something unique. They all come from different parts of the world, so as time goes by they break down language barriers and take part in activities together beyond KSA training sessions.
The graduation ceremony was exciting, as always. It featured speeches from members of the academic staff and a few students. In fact, Major Spiller, KSA’s goalkeeper, won the American High School Programme’s Academic Excellence Award. Well done, Major!

Kaptiva Sports Academy offers new opportunities for U18 players with Real Betis and Girona
As we’ve mentioned in previous blog posts, Kaptiva Sports Academy offers new opportunities for U18 players who are finishing their time with us. We work in partnership with Spanish league clubs such as Girona and Real Betis, enabling the lads to train with them first-hand through a series of development programmes.
Whilst they continue their studies at universities or schools that have partnerships with the clubs, the clubs teach them their training methods at their own facilities. That is why we are proud of this unique opportunity, which allows young people to continue their development within professional football.
At Kaptiva Sports, we want to keep growing, and we are working to offer more of these opportunities in partnership with other clubs (Alavés), so we encourage you to keep an eye on this blog and our social media channels.
This was the KSA players’ graduation, so we wish them the very best of luck in whatever path they choose to take. We’re sure they’ll do well. Congratulations, lads!
