Kaptiva Sports Academy – Game Report Sant Cugat FC This weekend our teams played against Sant Cugat FC in very competitive and disputed games that ended in a win for our U15 squad and a tie for our U18 squad. The progress that our boys have made in just two weeks of practice is considerable and already admirable. But more importantly, we are witnessing two teams with great spirit and sportsmanship that are forming in accordance to the Kaptiva Sports Academy code of conduct. A little bit of background on our opponent Sant Cugat FC. A club that was born in a suburb of Barcelona and that has various teams that play on the same level as the biggest names in Catalonians youth football. Various talents have arisen from the youth squads of Sant Cugat FC and the club has therefore invested more and more into their youth development over the past years. With that in mind, we knew that the games for both our U15 and U18 team will be tough and very competitive; and it was affirmed when the referee blew that whistle to initiate the games. As expected the games very highly competitive and with many one on one situations on both sides. Nevertheless, over the course of both games, a very high level of soccer was maintained where passing and possession remained a key element to the favourable results for Kaptiva Sports Academy. However, in both games Sant Cugat Esport FC started off by scoring the first goals of the game, which usually causes a loss in motivation and mental strength in average teams. But our boys are not average and in both games they made a comeback and showed that mental strength, perseverance, and the willingness to succeed. Leonard and Frankie were the ones that changed the scoreboard in our favour and led to the 2:1 win over our adversaries. For our U18 team it was Kwinda and Carlos who saved the day and therefore lead the team to a tie. For our second game of the season, we are seeing how collective and mental strength helped our teams to succeed this past weekend. Well done and congratulations on the great results. ]]>
