Last week, KSA participated at the Mediterranean International Cup, which is considered the best youth academy tournaments in the world.
The MIC is an international soccer tournament with around 280 clubs / soccer academies from all over the world.
Reputed clubs like FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, RCD Espanyol, Villarreal CF, Málaga CF, Aspire Football Dreams, FC Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Manchester City, FC Inter, FC Shakhtar Donetsk, and more elevated the competitive level of this tournament and therefore return every year.
KSA competed against teams from Brazil, Colombia, USA, Qatar and from Spain, like for example Athletic Club de Bilbao. This year competition was more demanding than ever since all the teams showed their highest level of soccer.
[gallery columns="2" size="large" link="none" ids="11025,11023"]After competing in the group phase, both teams had to compete in the B-phase. Our Juvenil (U18) team played 3 frenetic games before lifting the cup as winners defeating Racing Sarrià (Spain) 2-1 in the final. For our elite soccer players at Kaptiva Sports Academy, the hard work, the countless hours of training both in the morning and in the evenings, gym and video sessions, the competitive game plan, and the strict nutritional plan, paid off in the end.
The participation in the 17th MIC was a great experience for Kaptiva Sports Academy players, coaches, and parents. This was the second time in three years that we were able to lift the B Cup as winners of the tournament. It fills us with pride and joy to see our players improve, win, and excel on and off the field.
We also would like to thank all the families that joined us at the MIC Tournament for being great supporters and for accompanying the players during this experience cheering them up no matter what.
