In just over two months, our players will have the opportunity to go head-to-head with other teams in a new tournament. This is a new incentive for the boys to start training hard from day one. We are proud to announce that KSA will compete in the Cruyff Football Tournament.

Below, we will give you more details about the event. Although we have already mentioned it, the importance of these tournaments lies in the opportunity to improve and work on aspects such as teamwork. And, above all, to enjoy the experience from start to finish.

First, the dates: the Cruyff Football Tournament will be held in Salou from December 5 to 8, 2025.  The week before, KSA training sessions will focus on the tournament and the first matches.

We will send three teams: U15, U16, and U18. We have confidence in the potential of both our veteran players and our newest recruits. The coaches will have to determine the best way to approach each game in order to advance through each round, adapting their style of play to their next opponent.

The tournament guarantees a minimum of four matches. In 11-a-side soccer, each match will consist of two 25-minute halves. Groups of four teams will play in a league format, guaranteeing a minimum of three matches in this phase. The teams ranked first and second will advance to the final phase (quarterfinals, semifinals, and final), while those ranked third and fourth will advance to the silver phase.

The legacy of Johan Cruyff

Hendrik Johannes Cruyff, known as Johan Cruyff, was born in Amsterdam on April 25, 1947, on Linnaeusstraat, and grew up in a neighborhood on the outskirts of the city, half a kilometer from the Ajax stadium.

Despite the difficulties, Cruyff persevered and, at just 17 years old, made his debut with Ajax. At first, he was not an undisputed starter, but little by little he earned his place on the team. His humble beginnings taught him the value of effort, perseverance, and self-improvement.

He subsequently played for clubs such as Barcelona (1973-1978), Los Angeles Aztecs (1979), Washington Diplomats (1980), Levante UD (1981), Ajax (1981-1983), and Feyenoord (1983-1984). As a coach, he worked at Ajax (1985-1988), Barcelona (1988-1996), and the Catalan National Football Team (2009-2013).

He won numerous titles, including the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup with Ajax (1987) and Barcelona (1989), as well as La Liga with Barcelona between the 1990-1991 and 1993-1994 seasons.

“In soccer, there are basically two things. First: when you have the ball, you must be able to pass it correctly. Second: when the ball comes to you, you must be able to control it. If you don’t control it, you won’t be able to pass it either.
