st, 2017 Kaptiva Sports Academy hosted a tryout to fill the academy class for the school year that starts this coming August. These boys are very motivated and talented young people who are working hard to meet their full potential. Fourteen boys from all over the world came to compete for spots in KSA. Boys and their parents traveled from the United States, Brazil, South Africa, Portugal, India, and all over Europe to learn more about the ambitious program that is KSA. The schedule The trials consist of three days training and games. Day one the boys all meet for registration, have one training session in the morning, lunch at the cafeteria where they would be eating during the school year, and another training session in the afternoon. The morning of day two contains a tour and meeting of the Europa International School, tour of the residence where they would be living, a meeting that explains KSA’s competitive soccer program, lunch, and a training session to end the day. There is a friendly game that takes place on day three followed by closing KSA trials. The following Monday is when the boys and their parents are emailed to inform them if they have been excepted into the academy. After being accepted, the boys must decide if they want to dedicate their lives to soccer before registering for the academy. Players from across the globe One boy and both of his parents made the long trek from Houston, Texas to spend only three days in Spain for the tryouts to immediately turn around and return home. One boy is already a part of a soccer program in Portugal, but is considering moving to KSA for next year. There was already a round of tryouts completed in April where 50% boys were accepted and then registered for KSA during the 2017-2018 school year. After the first training sessions, coach Joan Dellá said that he saw a lot of talent in this group of boys.
